Ella Farmen

Funeral services for Ella (Mrs. Ed) Farmen, 81, Wahpeton, will be 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Donald S. Walch officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.

She died at St. Luke's Hospital Wednesday morning.

Organist will be Mrs. Arnold Norman, and vocalist will be Arden Strege.

Casket bearers are Maynard Bernard, Emmett Eastman, Verlyn Owen, Ira Owens, Sam Robertson and J. W. Wellington.

Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday until 11 a.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton.

Mrs. Farmen was born April 24, 1892, at Waubay, S.D., to Earl and Nellie (Deer) Owen. She moved to Pierre, S.D., to work for the government. She met and married Ed Farmer. They moved to Wahpeton where he died in 1937.

She was employed at the Wahpeton Indian School until her 1955 retirement. Although blind in her retirement years, she baked for many local people. In May, 1973, she moved to Fargo to live with her grandson Earl Keeble. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Guild. She was preceded in death by a daughter Nettie Keeble in 1961.
