Obituary

Emil Fladby, 65, Wahpeton, Dies; Services Friday

Emil J. Fladby, 65, Wahpeton, retired Otter Tail Power Company maintenance man, died suddenly Monday evening. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from Bethel Lutheran church, Rev. Loyal E. Golf officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Emil Joseph Fladby was born at Havana, N.D., May 20, 1897, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Fladby. He came with his parents to Ibsen township near Mooreton.

Aug. 2, 1931, he married Hilda Tveter. They farmed until 1947 when they moved to Wahpeton. Mr. Fadby began work at the Otter Tail Power company in 1946 and retired in May, 1962.

He had been ill since last November.

Mr. Fladby was a member of Bethel Lutheran church and of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Maxine) Santers, Edina, Minn., a brother, Carl, Wahpeton, and two sisters, Esther and Marie, both of Wahpeton.

Organist will be Mrs. Vernon Hektner and vocalists will be Mrs. Carol Hess and Mrs. Loren Wolsky.

Active pallbearers will be William Hektner, Albert Skovholt, Joe Borgen, Ben Borgen, Arthur Amundson and Clifford Strandberg. Honorary pallbearers will be Nels Skovholt, John Skovholt, Melvin Johnson and Henry Lund.

Vertin’s-Wahpton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
