Obituary
Carl Glander Dies Sunday
Funeral services will be at 2 Wednesday in the Bethel Lutheran Church for Carl Glander, Sr., 94, who dies Sunday in his home in Wahpeton. The Rev. Marvin L Hartmann will officiate. Organist will be Mrs. Horace Lahren and vocalist Earl Azure. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be all day Tuesday at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home and Wednesday from 1 until 2 at the church.
Mr. Glander was born Jan. 5, 1874 in Pommerian, Germany and came to Great Bend, N.D., when he was 21 years old. He married Emilie Wagener in July 1911. She died in 1931. He farmed near Wahpeton before retiring in 194 and moving into Wahpeton where he was cared for by his daughter, Ruth.
He is survived by one son and three daughters, Carl, Jr., Ruth, Mrs. John (Eleanor) Bezenek and Mrs. Kenneth (Irene) Lee, all of Wahpeton, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two daughters Elizabeth and Marcellette.
