Obituary
Betty Glander Of Wahpeton Passes Sunday
Miss Elizabeth “Betty” Glander, 43, of Wahpeton died Sunday morning at her home after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Immanuel Lutheran church here with Rev. Henry Fry officiating. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery. Vertin Funeral Home of Wahpeton is in charge.
Pallbearers will be Donald and Harlan Zarling, Anton Radke, Otto and Herbert Glander and Elroy Wegener.
Born in Wahpeton Jan. 2, 1912, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Glander Sr., of Center township, well known Richland County farmer. She attended local schools and was confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church here of which she was a member.
In 1946 she moved with her father and sisters to Wahpeton where she had lived since. For several years she had been employed at Cox’s Bakery here and prior to that worked at the Wahpeton laundry.
She had been in ill health the past two years.
Survivors include her father; three sisters, Ruth of Fargo, Mrs. John (Eleanor) Bezenek of Breckenridge, and Irene and Carl Glander Jr., of Wahpeton and several nieces and nephews. Her mother died March 28, 1931.
