Obituary
Mrs. O. Gowin, Long in County, Dies Tuesday
Mrs. Orman (Annie) Gowin, resident of Wahpeton the past 10 years and native of Richland county, died Tuesday at the St. Francis hospital in Breckenridge. She was 65 years of age.
Funeral service has been set for Saturday at two p.m. from the Bethel Lutheran church here of which she was a member. The body will lie in state at Jos. Vertin and Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge from 10 a.m. Friday until noon on Saturday.
Born July 21, 1888 at Abercrombie, she attended schools and grew to young womanhood in that community. She married Edward Olson on Aug. 5, 1906. Mr. Olson died in 1939. On Nov 11, 1943 she was united in marriage to Orman Gowin who survives.
She also leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Mrs. Bessie Stenso of Breckenridge; six stepsons Harold and Clifford of Doran, Clarence Gowin of Fergus Falls, and Lyle, Lloyd and George Gowin, all of Tacoma, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Phillip (Opal) Hardy of Shelton, Wash., and Mrs. Vehl (Francis) Burkier of Spanaway, Wash.
She also leaves four brothers and sisters. They are Jim Ferguson of Rialto, Calif.; Austin of Foxhome, Edward, Wahpeton; Jack of Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. John (Mary) Ellis of Chewelah, Wash.; Mrs. Earl (Dora) Martin of Breckenridge, Mrs. Albert (Irene) Martin and Mrs. Clarence (Minnie) Olson, both of Wahpeton.
She is also survived by a daughter, Ms. Donald Nelson and one great grandchild. Besides her first husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
