Obituary

Otto H. Gutzmer

Funeral services for Otto H. Gutzmer, 75, rural Battle Lake, Minn., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Robert Olson officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery here.

Mr. Gutzmer died Wednesday at Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls, Minn.

Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon and evening and Friday until 2 p.m. at the chapel.

The organist will be Mrs. Horace Lahren, with vocalist Steve Wateland.

Casket bearers will be William Taylor, Walter Scheisser, Ed Bilden, Arnold Thom, Bill Neuleid and Carl Freese.

Mr. Gutzmer was born Feb. 7, 1900, at Hankinson, N.D., the son of Fred and Henrietta (Milbrandt) Gutzmer. He was raised in the Mantador, N.D., area and attended school there.

He married Martha Doleshy in 1932 and they farmed at Brushvale and Everdall, Minn.

Mr. Gutzmer later moved to Elbow Lake, Minn., and has lived at Battle Lake for the past 13 years.

Survivors include four sons, Eugene, 730 7th St. S., Breckenridge, Richard, 327 11th St. N., Breckenridge, and Gordon and Dennis, both Fergus Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Harris (Ruth) Ostern, Hankinson, Mrs. Paul (Leona) Walker, Bismarck, and Mrs. Carol Gullickson, Portland, Ore,; five brothers, Robert, Emil and Walter, all Wyndmere, N.D., Luverne, Mantador, and Edward, Mason City, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Anthony (Annie) Okke, Glyndon, Minn., and Mrs. August (Clara) Ehrens, Barney, N.D., and 16 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and a sister and brother (Vertin's Wahpeton).
