Leona Garberg
Services for Mrs. Herbert (Leona) Garberg, 76, of Wahpeton will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home East Chapel with Rev. Royal Steiner officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Gerberg died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday until 2 p.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home West Chapel.
Casket bearers will be Paul Shasky, Werner Zentner, John Heley, Ben Ehlert, Harold Lehman and Kenneth Devine.
Leona Calton was born Feb. 6, 1900 at Kramer, Ind., to Ben and Lula Belle (Mack) Calton.
When she was a child the family moved to Lakota, N.D. where she grew up and attended schools.
She married Fred Tiffany in 1916 at Fargo.
She married Herbert Garberg June 28, 1947. They lived at Lafayette, Ind. and Brainerd, Minn. They moved to Wahpeton in 1964 where he was employed at Montgomery Ward. She has lived at the Wahpeton Retirement Center the past year. She was a member of the Wahpeton Eagles Auxiliary.
Survivors are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Margaret) Wee of Fargo; two sons, Donald P. Tiffany of Everett, Wash., and Richard D. Tiffany of Ann Arbor, Michigan.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James Calton; and two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Heins of Madison, Wis., and Mrs. Ada Barrott of Minneapolis.
