Obituary

Herbert Glander Dies Thursday

Herbert W. Glander, 55, of Wahpeton died suddenly at his home Thursday. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Bethel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Lyle Peterson officiating. Mrs. Vernon Hektner was the organist and Ralph Graalum was the vocalist. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens in the spring.

Honorary pallbearers were Garfield Sampson, Matt Rindahl, Rudy Sparby, Maurice Frigaard and Clarence Amundson. Active pallbearers were Warren Davis, Oscar Lee, Orville Olson, Ray Pazdernik, Herman Backer and Leonard Jensen.

Mr. Glander was born at Hankinson March 20, 1913, the son of John and Augusta Glander. He attended school at Hankinson and married Beatrice Sunby in October 1934 at Enderlin, N.D. He was employed by the Great Northern Railway at Breckenridge for man years and for the past 10 years has been employed by the maintenance department of the North Dakota State School of Science.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Wayne, of Milwaukee, Wis.; and three brothers, Otto of Wahpeton, Harry of El Cerrito, Calif., and William of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
