Obituary
Janet “Jan” B. Glander, age 88, went home to be with her Lord on Nov. 14, 2022 at Lyngblomsten Care Center in St. Paul, MN.
Jan Berieth Miller was born Dec. 2, 1933 in Omaha, NE to Herbert H. and Berieth C. (Johnson) Miller. She graduated from Wahpeton High School and the University of North Dakota with a music education degree and an English minor. Jan married Jack O. Glander on Oct. 5, 1956. She lived most of her life in Rolette, ND where Jack was a dentist.
Jan was a very talented musician and artist. She played the timpani drums, guitar and was an especially gifted piano player. She accompanied for church, weddings, music contests and the community choir. Jan also directed the choir. Classical music was her very favorite. She had a beautiful singing voice and taught her daughters to sing in three-part harmony. She did many creative things including painting sets for plays, sewing costumes without a pattern and planning theme birthday parties.
Jan was very active in her church; participating in prayer chains, serving food and leading bible studies. She was a prayer warrior. Jan adored her children, grandchildren, siblings and friends. She loved to attend any concerts, sporting events, graduations and other ceremonies in which her children and grandchildren participated. Jan also enjoyed having many pets including dogs, a parakeet, ducks and even turtles. She was also quite the athlete enjoying sailing, skating, swimming, walking and riding her bike.
Jan was a kind, generous, loving and funny person who will be dearly missed by Jack; daughters Heidi (Scott) Ladwig, Glyndon, MN; Lisa Glander, Bloomington, MN; Jill (Bruce) Boehrs, Ramsey, MN; grandchildren Marlysa and Wyatt Ladwig; Bethani Glander; Brian, Stephanie, Katharina and Olivia Boehrs; brother Robert (Beth) Miller and numerous nephews and nieces.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents and brother David (Lorraine) Miller.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place on May 13, 2023 at 2:00 at Chahinkapa Park, 85 Rj Hughes Dr at the Hughes Shelter in Wahpeton, ND.

The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
