Obituary
Funeral Service Held Thursday for Mrs. Hanson
Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon in the Breckenridge Lutheran church for Mrs. Elmer (Plumle) Hanson, 81, long time resident of Wilkin County. She and her husband lived on a farm near Wolverton until 1937 when they moved to Breckenridge.
Since the death of her husband in 1952 she had made her home with her children.
Rev. P. A. Gisvold of Wahpeton officiated at the funeral and interment was made in Fairview Cemetery here. Jos. Vertin and Sons Funeral home of Breckenridge had charge of arrangements.
She was born July 29, 1878 at Port Andrew, Wis., where her parents farmed. She attended country schools and grew to womanhood in that area and on May 16, 1897, married Mrs. Hanson at Port Andrew.
They farmed in Wisconsin until 1910 when they came to a fam near Wolverton. Several of their children were born in Wisconsin but grew up in the Wolverton community.
Mrs. Hanson had been enjoying good health until the past two years.
Surviving are four sons Rawleigh of Blue River Wis. Clark of Breckenridge, Lloyd of Story City, Iowa and Ralph of Minneapolis; two daughters Mrs. Harold (Grace) Huber of Pierz, Minn., and Mrs. Floyd (Norma) Engle of Minneapolis; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Wubbenhorst of Richland Center, Wis.; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, two sons, Clifford and Frank, a sister, Rose Stephens, a brother Albert and two half sisters and a half brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hanson was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the Breckenridge Lutheran church of which she was a member at the time of her death.
