Obituary

Grover H. Haring, Wahpeton, Dies; Rites Set Tuesday

Grover H. Haring, 71, Wahpeton longtime area resident, died suddenly at a local hospital shortly after being admitted.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Foss Methodist church. Rev. Everett C. H. Owens officiating. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery. Visitation will be this afternoon (Monday) and evening and Tuesday until 12 noon at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral Home and at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Grover Harold Haring was born Oct 25, 1892, at Willmar, Minn., the son of John and Gertrude Haring. The family later moved to near Cayuga where he attended local schools.

He was married to Mary Landseth March 8 1914, at Aberdeen, S. D. They lived at Cayuga for a time and then for seven years at Outlook, Mont., returning to Cayuga in 1924.

They farmed there until 1944 when they moved to Wahpeton where Mr. Haring was employed at a lumber company and with the Wahpeton street department. He retired in 1954. They continued to live here.

Surviving are his wife; six children, Ronald, Madison Wis.; Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude) Brickzin and Mrs. Erlin (Lee) Moen and Bernice, all of Wahpeton; Grover, Jr., Bakersfield, Calif.; and Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Clatch, Chicago, Ill.

Two brothers, Jay of Cayuga and Wesley of San Francisco, Calif., also survive.

Active pallbearers will be Myron Frankfurth, Paul Kressin, Anton Kloepel, Clarence Kavarness, Alfred Bohn, and Earl Mittag.

Honorary pallbearers will be Peter Wohler, Hans Wohler Herman Wohler, Hans Kleingarn, Lee Alfson, Frank Jasewski, George McCullough and Floyd Askerooth. Organist will be Mrs. F. D. Brown and Mrs. S. C. Lucas will be vocalist.
