Obituary

Wm. H. Haring, 49, Longtime Local Resident, Dies Thursday

William H. Haring, 49, longtime Wahpeton resident, died Thursday at a local hospital following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held today (Monday) from Foss Methodist church, Rev. Everett C. H. Owens officiating. Interment was at Fairview cemetery.

William H. Haring was born in Cayuga, N. D., Aug. 2, 1914, the son of Grover and Mary Haring who farmed in that area.

He married Alvina Franksfurth April 20, 1938, at New Efffington, S. D. They have lived at Wahpeton since.

Mr. Haring was employed at Swift's and later at Casey's in Breckenridge.

He had been in ill health the past two years.

Mr. Haring was a member of Foss Methodist church. He was also a member of the Wildlife Club.

Surviving are his wife, Alvina; and eight children, Wayne, Travis Air Force Base, Calif.; Mrs. Larry (Sharon) Schmit, Tenney, Minn.; Gene, a student at the State School of Science; Carol, also a student at the Science School; Lowell, Keith, Robert and Jane, all at home.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Haring of Wahpeton; two brothers, Ronald, Madison, Wis. and Grover, Jr., Bakersfield, Calif. and four sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Gertrude) Brickzin, Wahpeton; Mrs. Earling (Leila) Moen, Wahpeton; Bernice Haring, Wahpeton and Mrs. Ronald (Margaret) Clatch, Chicago, Ill., also survive.

He was preced in death by one son.

Mrs. S. C. Lucas was organist and Mrs. Hilford Johnson vocalist. Pallbearers were Harvey Gorder, Art Parker, Clair Fletcher, Ralph Johnson, Elroy Weiss and Elmer Brendel.

Vertin's - Wahpeton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
