Obituary
Mrs. Rob’t (Anna) Hausken, 96, Pioneer Richland Resident, Dies
Mrs. Robert R. (Anna) Hausken, 96, one of Richland county’s oldest residents, died today, (Thursday). Mrs. Hausken resident in Wahpeton for nearly three quarters of a century, 74 years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Bethel Lutheran church. Rev. Loyal Golf, officiating. Interment will be at Fairview cemetery.
Anna Katherine Myhra was born Nov. 16, 1866, at Kongsberg, Norway, the daughter of H. C. N. and Elsie Myhra. She moved with her parents to Rushford, Minn., in 1870 and a year later to a farm north of Dwight.
She married Robert R. Hausken, Jan. 25, 1889, at St. John’s church, rural Abercrombie. Following her marriage, they moved to Wahpeton, where Mr. Hausken was employed at Stern’s Clothing. He was later proprietor of his own clothing business for 27 years.
Mr. Hausken died Sept. 10, 1941. Mrs. Hausken continued to live in Wahpeton. She became a resident of the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center seven years ago.
Surviving are a daughter Maude and two sons, Arthur and Clyde, all of Wahpeton; and two grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Albert (Ella) Magnuson and Mrs. Amund (Agnes) Thoreson, both of Moorhead also survive.
A son, Earl, died at Oakland, Calif. Also preceding Mrs. Hausken in death were her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Vertin’s-Wahpeton Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday morning at Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel and at the church from 1 to 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Carl Gauslow, Dale McMichael, Herman Becker, John Flaa, Art Paulsrud and Hans Syvertsen.
