Obituary
ELIZABETH BARBER HYATT
Mrs. Elizabeth Barber Hyatt, a sister of the Blandings of this city, died at her home in Bozeman, Mont., last Friday, May 26, after a lingering illness following a severe attack of grip last fall.
Short services were held at Bozeman, and the remains were brought to Wahpeton, where services were held at the Blanding farm just outside of the city on Tuesday afternoon, May 30th, at 5 o'clock, Rev. Duden conducting the service. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery beside her father and brother Frank.
Elizabeth Barber Blanding was born in Muscoda, Wis., 57 years ago, and came with her parents to Wahpeton in 1872, at the age of 13. Here she lived and grew to womanhood, and was maried in 1884 to Henry S. Hyatt, a prominent and well known resident of Wahpeton at that time.
Some years later the Hyatts left for Montana and settled at Townsend, and later moved to Detroit, Mich. About four years ago they returned to Montana, and located at Bozeman, where the family made its home, since that time.
Mrs Hyatt is survived by her husband, and five children, two step-daughters, and six brothers and sisters, all of the latter being well known in this community. They are James C. Blanding of Gardner, Mont., Emma A. Burbank of Wahpeton, H. R. Blanding of Lawton, Okla., Jessie M. Fisher of Devils Lake, W. D. and J. S. Blanding of Wahpeton.
