Obituary
FOUND IN WELL AUTOPSY HELD Having missed her husband about the farm for several hours, Mrs. John Holley of near Fairmount, alone began a search for the missing member of the family. Having noticed that her husbands mental condition of late had not been normal, from a number of peculiar actions, the situation became intense. The body was finally found in an open well near the house. Whether it was suicide or accident could not be determined. Neighbors were at once summoned, who assisted in bringing the limp body to the surface. After working over the prostrate form for some time it was found that life was extinct. Coroner Ness was called and an inquest was held, but not satisfied with his investigations, Dr. Blake Lancaster was summoned, and a post mortem examination was found necessary. The organs were removed and sent to Grand Forks for an analysis and for further examination, to determine the exact cause of death. After the autopsy was held, it was thought that the deceased did not meet death by drowning, but whether gas from the well overcame the victim or not is not ascertained. Authorities are not satisfied with the present developments of the case, and a thorough investigation is being made. Several important variables of the case will be looked up, and interesting news is expected to follow. Mrs. Holly is left alone to mourn her husband. The deceased was 67 years of age and lived on a farm near Fairmount which he had rented last spring. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church. Rev. Foller reading the services. Interment was made in the Fairview cemetery.
