Obituary
Funeral Service Held Thursday For Mrs. Holm
Funeral service was held on Thursday in Wahpeton for Mrs. Carl (Emma) Holm, who lived nearly all her life in Richland county. She died Tuesday.
Service was from the Bethel Lutheran church with Rev. P.A. Gisvold officiating. Vertin Funeral Home of Wahpeton had charge of arrangements and burial was in Fairview Cemetery here.
Emma Olson was born in Calumet, Mich., May 3, 1875, the daughter of Olaus and Christina Olson. She came with her parents as a small girl to near Dwight. She grew to womanhood in Richland county and attended schools. In 1897 she was united in marriage to Carl Holm and the couple farmed in this county until 1911 when they moved to Fort Benton, Mont., where they live for five years before returning to this county.
Mr. Holm died in 1925 and since then she had resided in Wahpeton. July 5, she went to visit her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Nelson at Fergus falls and became ill where she died Tuesday at 12:10 p.m.
She leaves to mourn her passing three other daughters and two sons. They are: Mrs. J. K. (Clara) Meyers of Wahpeton, Mrs. Arvid (Lillian) Pearson of Robbinsdale, Minn., Mrs. Herman (Johanna) Tiegs of Alameda, Calif., Arthur of Conrad, Mont., and Orlando of Klamuth, Calif.
Other survivors include two sisters, Miss Marion Olson of Lake Nordin, S.D., and Mrs. Martin Melberg of Ada, Minn., four brothers, Maurice Olson of Wahpeton, Fred of Great Falls, Mont., Elmer of Euphreth, Wash., and Barney of Breckenridge. Besides her husband, two sons Clarence and Everett, and three brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
