Another veteran of the civil war answered roll call Tuesday afternoon, when John F. Hutchinson passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Resley, 1505 Second Avenue south at Fargo.

Mr. Hutchinson was born in Butler county, Pennsylvania, on April 16, 1842. At the beginning of the civil war he enlisted in Co. G., Seventh Minnesota Volunteers serving to the end of the war. He was one of the early pioneers of the Red River Valley, coming to Fort Abercrombie in 1877 and living on a homestead. In the fall of 1879 he brought his family there and resided continuously up to 1909 when he went to Fargo to reside with his daughter. He is survived by his daughter and four sons, Samuel G. of Ryder, N. Dak., Earl W. of Abercrombie, N. Dak.; Roy F. of Amidon, N. D. and Ray V. of Rhame, N. Dak.

The remains were shipped to this city the latter part of last week and laid beside those of his wife, who died January 29, 1899.
