Obituary
Berta Hausauer
Services for Mrs. LlEoy (Bert) Hausauer, 50, of Wahpeton were Monday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial was at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hausauer died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital after a prolonged illness.
Casket bearers were LeRoy Edwards, Swede Dietz, Bob Dietz, Dr. Jack Prister, John Rader and Edward Werre.
Berta Stracener was born March 5, 1926 at Sugartown, Pa., to William and Clara (Dear) Stracener. She graduated from high school there and attended the Shreveport Charity Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated as an RN from the Army Nurse Corps. She served in the armed forces from 1951-53. For a time she was stationed in Japan in the Army medical service.
She married LeRoy Hausauer Feb. 25, 1953 at Las Vegas, Nev. They have lived in Wahpeton the past 24 years. She and her husband operated the Valley Motel. He is a state representative from the 25th district.
She was a member of the American Legion, the Legion Auxiliary, and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors are her husband; a son, Joe and a daughter, Janis, both of Wahpeton; and three brothers, Leon of Sugartown, Bruce of DeRidder, La., and C.D. of Jackson, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
