Obituary
Herbert Hoeft
Herbert Hoeft, 79, rural Hankinson, died Monday at his farm home. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at United Church of Christ in Hankinson with Rev. Roland Richter and Rev. Arthur-Mueller officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening (Wednesday) at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel and at the church for the hour prior to services.
He was born June 14, 1901 in Brandenburg Township, rural Hankinson, to Julius and Otillia (Kriesel) Hoeft. He attended local schools and he married Edna Stoltenow Dec. 22, 1925 at Great Bend. They farmed in Brandenburg Township.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ of Hankinson.
Survivors include two sons and three daughters, Eugene, Wahpeton, Williard, Hankinson, Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Mueller, Fergus Falls, Mrs. Larry (Avis) Colgrove, Fort Lupton, Colo., Mrs. John (Valeria) Bohlig, Minot; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur, Wahpeton and Marvin, Great Bend.
He was preceded in death by one brother and eight sisters.
Casket bearers will be Daniel Mueller, Corey Bohlig, Hugh Colgrove, Byron Westlund, Rick Jacobs and Kelvin Hoeft.
Location
The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
