Obituary

Earl Holly

The funeral for Earl J. Holly, 70, Wahpeton will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley K. Mueller officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Holly died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge.

Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at Vertin's Funeral Home - Wahpeton and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. A chapel prayer service at Vertin's will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Holly was born May 12, 1903 at Hewitt, Minn., to George and Grace (Johnson) Holly. He was educated in the Hewitt area and began working as a barber there in 1920. In 1923 he moved to Barrie, Minn., and in 1924 to Breckenridge. IN 1926 he moved to Wahpeton where he had lived since. He worked for 52 years in the barbering business and bought his own shop in 1943. He retired from his business last year.

Survivors include his widow Florence; two sons, Earl, Bismarck; Kenneth, San Mateo, Calif.; a stepson, John Sayer, Portland, Ore.; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Herbert (Diane) Helgeson, Grand Forks; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Gerald, Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Hazel) Webersick, Richfield, Minn.; and Mrs. Stuart (Glenice) Torgeson, Williston.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Frances in 1966; his parents and four brothers.

Honorary casket bearers are Pat Goggin, Art Miller, G. W. Haverty, Clifford Schennum, Elmer Oliver, Lerory Woehrmann, E. P. Bute and Wallace Nordgaard.

Active casket bearers are Clayton Egenes, Edward Peterson, Vernon Bakken, John Rader, Harvey Loll and K. D. Broin.

Vocal music will be provided by Llye Jacobson. Organist is Jerald Stewart.
