Alma Holthusen
Services for Mrs. Ervin (Alma) Holthusen, 72, Great Bend, will be at 2 Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, with Rev. Raymond Albrecht officiating. She died Thursday evening at St. Francis Hospital.
Visitation is Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday until 11 a.m. at Vertins Wahpeton Funeral Home Chapel. There will also be visitation at the church for the hour prior to services.
Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton. Alma Wagner was born Dec. 5, 1906 at Lidgerwood to Michael and Henrietta Wagner. She was raised and attended schools in Dexter Township, rural Lidgerwood. She married Theodore Gereszek, at Lidgerwood on Sept. 9, 1928. He died July 13, 1936.
She married Ervin J. Holthusen, Dec. 25, 1941 at Tyler, N.D. The couple farmed in Summit Township (Tyler). He died April 22, 1972.
She moved into Great Bend in 1973. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the LWML.
Survivors include a son, Myron Holthusen, rural Wahpeton; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Scholtfeldt, Lidgerwood, and Mrs. Freida Schlotfledt, Winston-Salem, N.C.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
