Obituary
Clarence Hooge
The funeral for Clarence W. Hooge, 81, will be at 2:30 Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wahpeton. Mr. Hooge died Sunday at Mesa, Ariz. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens in Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening and until 11 a.m. Thursday at Vertin's-Wahpeton Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church. There will also be a prayer service at 7:30 Wednesday.
He was born Dec. 8, 1896 at Mountain Lake, Minn., to John and Emily (Langhoff) Hooge. He married Ida Anderson Oct. 23, 1918 at Forman, N.D. She preceded him in death on June 22, 1966. He married Laura Miller July 16, 1969 at Wahpeton.
He worked for the Great Northern Railroad from 1922 until his retirement. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and an active member of Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; one brother, Arthur of Wahpeton; two sisters, Alma Bliss, St. Paul, and Mrs. Paul (Frances) Schneider, Hastings, Minn.; a daughter, Mrs. Dana (Opal) Lawrence, Jamestown, N.D.; two sons, Lowell of Wahpeton and Laverne of West St. Paul; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Floyd (Marlys) Hauschild, Wahpeton; two stepsons, Larry and Darrel Miller, both of Wahpeton; 20 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He is preceded by his first wife, parents and one brother.
Casket bearers will be Ardee Johnson, Russel Wallace, Leslie Johnson, Brian Hauschild, Greg Hauschild and Blake Miller.
Honorary bearers will be Bill Lundgren, Lloyd Keech, Irvin Kent, Robert Matt, Art Damon and Earl Stein.
