Gust a. Isackson, 71, retired Wahpeton carpenter and building contractor, died Monday morning at St. Francis Hospital where he had been a patient since Thursday. Born Feb 22, 1885 in Sweden, he came with his parents to the United States as a small boy. They homesteaded on land near Galchutt, being early day settlers in that community.
He married Alma Leinen at Dwight in 1912. To this union three children were born; Orville of Olympia Wash.; Mrs. C. J. (Adelaide) Hubbel of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Lowell (Viola) Warner of Olympia.
Three years later he married Clara Lee of Ada, Minn. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last summer.
Besides his wife and children, survivors include a sister; Mrs. Simon Hammer of Wahpeton; two brothers, Albin of Wahpeton and Henning of Colfax; and several grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed pending word from a son in Washington. Vertin Funeral Home of Wahpeton is in charge.
