Obituary
Florence Isackson
COLFAX, N.D. - Mrs. Archie (Florence) Isackson, 62, Colfax, died Monday at St. John's Hospital, Fargo. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Galchutt Lutheran Church, the Rev. H. Chris Hallanger officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home and for the hour prior to the service at the church.
Casket bearers will be Jeff, Joey and Johnny Haverland, Dean Isackson, David Blumer and Don Kitzman.
Florence Blumer was born Jan. 9, 1918 at Walcott, the daughter of Alvin and Adella (Ista) Blumer. She graduated from Colfax High School and Ellendale State College. She taught rural schools in Garborg and Nansen townships and at Galchutt and Abercrombie. She married Archie B. Isackson April 8, 1940 at Breckenridge. They farmed in Nansen Township near Colfax.
She was a member of the Galchutt Lutheran Church and the American Lutheran Church Women. She was a 4-H leader for 10 years. She taught Sunday School and religion classes at Galchutt Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Gary, Raytown, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Joyce) Haverland, Perham, Minn.; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Fern Gunness, Abercrombie; and a brother, Adolph Blumer, Colfax.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
