Obituary
C. R. Jasmer Funeral Set for Tuesday at 2
Charles R. Jasmer, 79, died early Friday morning at his home in Wahpeton. Funeral services will be at 2 Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. Edward J. Rutter officiating.
Mr. Jasmer was born Aug. 2, 1896 at Hankinson and was raised there. He was employed at a mill in Minneapolis for nine years before he was married to Freda Medenwaldt March 7, 1924 in Hankinson.
They lived in Hankinson and came to Wahpeton in 1953 when he was employed by the Peter J Schweitzer flax straw plant in Breckenridge.
He retired six years ago following an accident. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
He leaves his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Orin (Jeanette) Medenwald, Lidgerwood; Mrs. Robert (Yvonne) Schneider, Santa Ana, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Lena) Gadcke and Mrs. William (Della) Westphal, both Hankinson; Mrs. Harold (Tillie) Voltz, Osseo, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be this afternoon and evening (Monday) at Vertin’s Wahpeton Chapel with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Organist will be Mrs. William Enochson, with the Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Choir providing the music.
Pallbearers will be Clifford Roeder, Roger Roeder, Melvin Westphal, Darrel Medenwald, Roy Medenwald and Harold Voeltz.
