Seven Weeks Illness End in Death Here
Friends and Relatives Pay Last Respects at Bethel Lutheran Church
Funeral services were held at 2:30 o’clock this (Monday) afternoon from Bethel Lutheran church with Rev. J. C Wisnaes officiating for Mrs. F. O. Johnson, a resident of his city, who passed away Thursday afternoon at the Wahpeton hospital after an illness of seven weeks. Interment was made in the Fairview cemetery. Minnie A. Nelson was born in McPherson, McPherson county, Kansas, December 27th, 1888. She was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nelson and was forty-three years, three months and seventeen days of age at the time of her death.
Mrs. Johnson grew up to womanhood in the McPherson community. On April 17th, 1904 she was confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran church of McPherson. On September 28th, 1910, she was united in marriage to Frank O. Johnson of Burdick, Kansas. This union was blessed with twelve children, two having preceded their mother in death, William in 1911 and Helen in 1926.
Mrs. Johnson was of a loving disposition and her interests were confined to her family and community.
Under the flower bedecked casket, she was escorted to her final resting place by a host of friends with E. P. Revereid, J. P. Dietz, George Hedner, William Kent, George Canham, and Hjalmer Iverson acting as pallbearers. Left to survive her and mourn her departure are her husband, F. O. Johnson, and children, Oberlie, Orville, Lambert, Irvin, Berniel, Warren, Afred, Neadasha, Astrid, and Esther besides her aged father and mother, brother, Martin Nelson, 4 sisters, Mrs. Carvie Frank, Mrs. Arthur Ferm and Mrs. Harry Johnson, all of McPherson and Miss Elsie Nelson, of Witchita, Kansas, besides many other friends and relatives. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.
