Obituary
Franklin Johnson
Funeral services for Franklin O. Johnson, 57, of Moorhead and formerly of Wyndmere, will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Korsmo Funeral Chapel in Moorhead with Rev. Roger Olson officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton.
Mr. Johnson died Monday at Veterans Hospital in Fargo.
Casket bearers will be Bradley, Gary, Gregory and James Feir and Gerald and James Johnson.
Franklin Johnson was born September 20, 1912 at Burdick, Kan. He moved with his parents to Wyndmere when he was seven and grew up and was educated there.
He served in the U.S. army during World War II in the South Pacific. After discharge, he married Eva Feir November 24, 1946 at Moorhead. Following their marriage the couple farmed at Wolverton, Lake Park and Barnesville, Minn. before moving into Moorhead in 1959 where they have lived ever since.
Mr. Johnson was a carpenter for several years and later became an engineer with the Moorhead post office. He retired several months ago because of ill health.
Survivors include his wife, Eva; four brothers, Orville of St. Paul, Lambert and Alfred of Breckenridge and Warren of Silver Bay, Minn.; and four sisters, Mrs. Richard (Bernielle) Gast of Battle Lake, Minn., Mrs. Leonard (Neoda) Chap of Perrydale, Ore., Mrs. Robert (Esther) Olson of Omaha, Neb. and Astrid Johnson of Cornallis, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.
