Obituary

Albert Johnson Rites Held Monday in Breckenridge

Funeral service was held Monday morning at 10:00a.m. from Jos. Vertin and Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge for Henry Albert Johnson, 68, of Rothsay, who died Friday in St Francis Hospital.

The Rev. T. C. Hanson of Breckenridge officiated at the rites. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery at Wahpeton.

He was born March 16, 1889 in Moorhead, Minn. and spent his early life around Walcott. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. At one time he operated a dray line in Walcott. He later worked for the Great Northern Railroad and had been section forman at Elder, N. D., before moving to Breckenridge where he worked as a crossing gate attendant.

After his marriage to Elizabeth Zeck, they moved to Austin, Minn. where he was employed by the Milwaukee Railroad. Following the death of his wife in 1944, he returned to Breckenridge for a time was employed at the Wilkin Hotel. The next few years he had worked on the Olson farm. In recent months he had resided at St. Francis Rest Home.

Survivors include :a sister, Mrs. Clara Torgenrud of Breckenridge; a half sister, Mrs. Henry Grinaker of Yakima, Wash.; two step-sons, Fred and Gordan Zeck of Austin Minn.; four nieces, Mrs. Robert Benjamin Mrs. Clint Henderson and Sharie Ann Grinaker, al of Yakima, and Mrs. Robert Dietz of Wahpeton; and three nephews Lyle Torgenrud of Wahpeton, Dale Grinaker of Moorhead and Howard Grinaker of Seattle, Wash.

Besides his wife and parents, a sister also preceded him in death.
