Charles Jost Dies in Fargo

Well Known Resident Leaves Six Children

Funeral services for Charles Jost, well known resident of Center Township who died Monday at a Fargo hospital will be held Friday at two o’clock from the Congregational Church and will be conducted by Rev. Ross E. Hartman.

Charles Jost, third of the five children of George and Minnie Jost, was born October 3, 1877 at Hammond, Wisconsin. He came to Richland County at the age of twenty-one and worked for Herbert and Jay Brand.

On February 18, 1915, he was married to Miss Alice Brand. To them six children were born: Leroy (now living at home), Donald (now serving with the infantry in France), Florence (Mrs. D. L. Stephens, Jr., of Washington, D.C. Ralph (now living at home), Verbena, (now living in Washington, D. C.) and Thelma (now living at home).

After two years of gradually failing health, Charles passed away on Monday, at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo. The closer relatives surviving him are his wife, six children and a brother, William of Hammond Wisconsin.
