FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. EARL JOYCE Long-time Wahpeton Resident Dies at Rochester Hospital Saturday Night
Mrs. Elfreda Willard Joyce, aged 41, wife of Earl Joyce, of Grand Forks, but a resident of Wahpeton most of her life, died at 9 o’clock Saturday night, May 7, at a Rochester hospital. Elfreda Willard was born in Wahpeton, attended school here, was married here to Earl Joyce and resided here continuously until about 10 year ago when Mr. Joyce was transferred by the Great Northern to Grand Forks, where he is a train master.
She is survived by her husband and one son, Cecil, University of North Dakota student: three brothers, Arthur of Breckenridge, Otto of Calgary, Canada, and William, who lives in the West; a sister, Elsie, married and residing in St. Paul; and her mother, Mrs. W. H. Willard, who lives in St. Paul at the home of her daughter.
The body was taken to Wahpeton yesterday, and funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at
the Congregational church, of which she was a loyal member. The Rev. Chester F. Dunham will officiate. All the near relatives are expected here to attend the service. Although she had not lived in Wahpeton for about ten years. Mrs. Joyce had numerous friends here, who grieve over her death and extend deepest sympathy to the sorrowing family
