Obituary
Peter Jacobs, 88, Breckenridge, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1986, at St. Francis Medical Center, Breckenridge. The funeral will be today (Saturday) at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Breckenridge, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ron Weyrens officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.
There will be visitation beginning at 9 a.m. today until the time of the service at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, two sons, Richard, Bennett, Colo.; Thomas, Littleton, Colo.; two step-sons, Virgil Johnson, Kansas City, Mo.; Eugene Johnson, Littleton, Colo.; five step-daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Lucille) Baumgart, Detroit Lakes; Mrs. Eugene (Adeline) Maley, Mound City, Mo.; Beverely Ranuva; Breckenridge, Geraldine Simmons, Gainesville, Fla.; Mrs. Albert (Kathleen) Svihl, Moorhead; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters and a grandchild.
He was born March 1, 1898, to Peter and Suzanna (Knauf) Jacobs near Mooreton, N.D. /he grew up there and attended Barney Township school He then worked on his parents' farm. He was united in marriage to Margaret Reinke Nov. 25, 1944, at Breckenridge. They made their home in Frazee until 1950 when they moved to Mound City, Mo. He worked in construction there until 1956 when they returned to Breckenridge. he had various jobs in the area and in later years farmed with Dick Dickerson.
Pallbearers will be Albert Svihl, Richard Dickerson, George Jacobs, Ronald, Scott and Daniel Baumgart, and Jim Stevenson.
