Mrs. Frank James, Wahpeton Woman Dies Wednesday
Funeral Saturday From Bethel Church Here at Two O’clock
Mrs. Frank (Lena) James, long time resident of Wahpeton, died Wednesday at the St. Mary hospital here where she had been a patient for the past three weeks. She was born at Owatonna, Minn., July 6, 1884. The daughter of Charles and Caroline Bauer. She married Frank James in Breckenridge in 1909. Mr. James died in 1945.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Robert Mills, of Vergas, Minn., Mrs. Lloyd Thomson, of Wolverton, and Mrs. Glen Raftevold and Mrs. Lloyd Manock, both of Wahpeton; two sons, Frank and George, of Wahpeton; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Bansen of Owatonna, Mrs. Dave Gagle of Central City, Nebr., Mrs. Wilhelmina Baebler and Miss Amanda Bauer, of Kent; a brother, John Bauer, of Salem, Ore.; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Bethel Lutheran church in Wahpeton with Rev. P. A. Gisvold officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Fairview cemetery. The body will lie in state from Thursday evening until time of the funeral Saturday at the Schmitt and Olson funeral home, who is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Howard Neubauer, Al Funfar, Bert Hendrickson, Edward Thomson, Albert Thomson and Elmer DeVries. Honorary pallbearers named are Gust Isackson, Lars Raftevold, Ted Dahm, Albert Weis, Miner Keeney and Theodore Thomson.
