Theodore Jacobson

The funeral for Theodore Jacobson, 80, of 96 South Fifth Street, Wahpeton, will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Marvin l. Hartmann officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Jacobson died Thursday morning at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening in Vertin's Wahpeton east chapel and Saturday until time of services in the west chapel.

Casket bearers will be Cecil and Merle Johnson, Hans, Clayton, and Harold Syvertson, and Raymond Jacobson.

Organist will be Mrs. Horace Lahren and vocalist will be James Horton.

Theodore Jacobson was born April 15, 1895 at Galchutt, N.D. to Julius and Anna (Kolstad) Jacobson. He was raised in Abercrombie.

He married Laura Wold Oct. 15, 1915 and the couple farmed in the Abercrombie-Galchutt area until 1942 when they moved to Wahpeton. He worked at the Great Northern Railroad roundhouse in Breckenridge, retiring in 1960. Mrs. Jacobson died Jan. 20, 1964. He continued to live in Wahpeton and has resided at the Rehabilitation Center since last October.

Survivors are two sons, Don of Wahpeton and Lyman of Phoenix; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Rose) Krebs of Battle Lake, Minn. and Mrs. Mirko (Thelma) Podgornik of Elkhorn, Wis.; 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Hjalmer of Wahpeton and Kenneth of Kent, and three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Farup and Mrs. Alice Bob of Wahpeton and Mrs. Barney (Miranda) Welge of Webster, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, and one daughter.
