Obituary
Mrs. Johanson Rites Thursday
The funeral of Mrs. Mathias (Albertina) Johanson, 78, of Fairmount, will be at 2:30 Thursday in Vertin’s-Wahpeton Chapel with the Rev. Reuben Mellum officiating. Mrs. Donald Royer will be the organist and Ray Aarestad the vocalist. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Johanson died Monday.
Pallbearers will be Clifford, David and Curtis Hatle, Merle and Bernard Johanson and Dennis Dockter.
Albertina Nelson was born at Lisbon, N.D., March 29, 1891, and was raised at Gwinner, N.D. She married Mathias Johanson April 17, 1912 and the couple farmed at Lisbon before moving to Wahpeton in 1942 where he was employed as a carpenter. The coupled moved to Fairmount in 1964.
She is survived by her husband; four sons and three daughters, Neal and Chester of Fairmount, Mrs. Wesley (Mabel) Moore of Cogswell, Mrs. John (Margaret) Hatle and Leonard, both of Wahpeton, Mrs. Merle (Myrtle) Hatle of Adams, Minn., Mervin, in the Army in California; a sister, Mrs. John (Jennie) Keller of Lisbon and 27 grandchildren.
