Mary Karel
The funeral for Mrs. Frank (Mary) Karel, 71, of Wahpeton will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, with Rev. George Mehok officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Karel died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital, Breckenridge.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m., continuing through the evening, and Saturday until 9:45 a.m. at Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home chapel. There will be a Bible Vigil at 8 p.m. Friday.
Organist will be Mrs. Pat Milloy and special music will be by the St. John's Ladies Choir.
Mary Baem was born April 24, 1904 in Minnesota to John and Anna (Rukavicka) Baem. As an infant she came with her parents to Duerr Township, Lidgerwood, where she grew up and attended school.
She married Frank Karel Oct. 21, 1930 at Lidgerwood. The couple farmed in Dexler Township until 1959 when they moved to Wahpeton. Since last summer she has lived at the Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center.
Survivors are her husband; a sister, Mrs. George (Clara) Korbel of Hopkins, Minn.; and a brother, George of Grand Forks, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
