Obituary

W. C. Kent Dies In California, Funeral Here

W. C. Kent, long time Richland County resident, passed away in San Pedro Calif. He had been living there for the last 14 years making his home there. He had celebrated his 83r birthday June 6 and was in good health at that time.

He leaves three sisters, Mrs. Flossie Nord and Mrs. Harold Sherwood, both of Weyerhauser, Wisc., and Mrs. Louis McCumber of Barron, Wisc. He also

leaves three daughters, Mrs. Fred Peseau of Hayward, Calif., Mrs. Joe E. Stitz of Glendale, Calif. And Mrs. Chester Lister of Wilmington Calif, and four sons, Evert Kent of Kaukauna, Mich., Clarence Kent of Cowners Grove, Ill., Alvin Kent of Fargo and Erwin Kent of Wahpeton.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Congregational church in Wahpeton.

Rev. Frank Hirons will officiate. Interment will be made in Fairview Cemetery here with Schmitt-Polton Funeral Home handling arrangements. Visitation will be in their chapel on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Pallbearers will be John Koenig, Earl Talbert, Henry Rustad, George Ehrens, Lambert Johnson and J.P. Dietz.

William Charles Kent was born June 6, 1873 at Rochester, Minn., where he attended school but moved with his parents when 12 years and to Montevideo, MInn. Here he attended schools and grew to manhood.

He married Hulda Falk there, June 19, 1898 and five years later they came to Richland County where they farmed. He retired from farming in 1942 and moved to San Pedro.

His wife and a daughter preceded him in death.
