Funeral Monday For Henry Klein Of Breckenridge

Came to Wilkin County to Farm North of Breck

Funeral services were held this Monday for Henry Klein, long time Wilkin resident, who died Friday morning in Breckenridge. He was 67 years old.

Services were held at the Lutheran church with Rev. P. A. Gisvold officiating. Burial was in the family lot in Fairview cemetery at Wahpeton. Jos. Vertin and Sons Funeral Home of Breckenridge was in charge of the arrangements.

Henry Klein was born of German parents March 30, 1882, in the town of Frank, near the Volga River in Russia.

In 1907 he and his wife immigrated to this country and settled at Denver, Colo. In 1911 they moved to Loveland, Colo. In 1912 they came to Wilkin county, Minn., and established a home on a farm about 7 miles northeast of Breckenridge, where they resided until the year 1941 when they moved to Breckenridge where they have lived since.

Henry Klein was a well know man in this community. During the years he lived here he was a successful and efficient farmland business man. In spite of the fact that Mr. Klein had practically no schooling, his success can be attributed to the fact that he had strong natural business ability.

Klein had a devotion toward and interest in his family. Their parochial release report, when they left the old country, discloses that Mr. Klein and his wife were members of the Lutheran church.

To the deceased and his wife, Mary, 12 children were born. He is survived by his wife of Breckenridge, and five sons: Henry, Frederick, Ronald, Daniel and Reuben, all of Breckenridge; four daughters: Pauline, Mrs. Shirley Matheson, Rose, Mrs. Clifton Walters, Leona, Mrs. George Stark, of Breckenridge and Molly, Mrs. John Ryland, of Moorhead; two brothers, Frederick and Casper, of Loveland, Colo; one sister, Mrs. Alice Schafer, of Loveland, Colo.; and 19 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
