Funeral Services For Former Local Man Tuesday
Herman Klingbell Dies Thursday at Home Near Fergus
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon from Immanuel Lutheran church for Herman E. Klingbell, 70 years old, who died Thursday evening at his home near Fergus Falls. The service, which is to be held at 2:30 o’clock will be conducted by Rev. R. J. Becker.
Born in Germany, he came to the United States with his parents when 11 years old. They settled in the east end of Friberg township in Otter Tail County. In 1897 he and his parents moved to Richland county. In 1900 he was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie Ceroll of Sisseton, S.D. In 1911, he and his wife moved to Wahpeton where he became engineer at the city water pumping station.
Fourteen years ago he moved to Fergus Falls and in 1936 he bought a farm in Tumuli.
While a resident of Richland county he was an active member of the Immanuel church at Wahpeton and a member of the school board.
Surviving are his wife and four children, Mr. Reinhart Stein of Wahpeton; Herman Klingbell of Seattle; Edward Klingbell, who is with the Otter Tail Power Co. of Wahpeton and Mrs. Frank Krause, Wahpeton. One son died in infancy. There are three sisters, Mrs. Frank Budack and Mrs. Bertha Fenske of Fergus Falls and Mrs. Minnie Sterns of near Dalton, Minn.
