Obituary
C. A. Kocourek
WAHPETON - Charles A. Kocourek, 77, of 422 1/2 North 6th St., Wahpeton, died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 Thursday in Vertin's-Wahpeton Chapel with the Rev. Tom Akeley officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Wahpeton Masonic Lodge and presentation of the flag will be by the Wahpeton American Legion.
Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening and Thursday until time of service at Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home.
Mr. Kocourek was born July 31, 1895, at Tabor, S.D., the son of Anton and Mary (Srstka) Kocourek. The family moved to Lidgerwood when he was an infant. He attended school at Lidgerwood and served in the Army in World War I. He married Helena Horovitz Sept. 18, 1919, at Lidgerwood. The couple resided there where he worked in a lumber yard until 1934 when they moved to Wahpeton. He was manager of the North Dakota State Employment Service at Wahpeton for 25 years, retiring in 1961. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Wahpeton Masonic Lodge, was a past master of the Lidgerwood Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Wahpeton American Legion.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. R. Mark (Norma Jean) King of Oakland, Calif.; one sister and one brother, Mrs. Emil (Christine) Glaser of Fargo and Edward S. of Long Beach, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William F.
