Obituary
Frank Krause, 60, Railroad Worker Passes at Minot
Frank P. Krause, longtime Great Northern Railway employee here, died Friday in a Minot, N.D. hospital following a stroke. He had moved to Minot nine months ago when the railroad discontinued some of its services here.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Vertin Funeral Home chapel in Wahpeton. Rev. Robert Falk of Breckenridge will officiate and interment will be in Fairview Cemetery here.
The deceased was born at Claire City, S. D. May 4, 1898, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Krause. He attended schools and grew to manhood in that area and as a young man came to this community to begin work with the Great Northern Railroad. He was employed in the car department. Surviving are eight sons, Vernon of Fargo, James of Breckenridge, Dennis of the U.S.A.F. in Germany, Maurice in the U.SA.F. stationed in Clarksville, Tenn., Dale in the U.S.A.F. at Lackland, Texas and Gerald, Neil and Lee, all at home; a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Lois) Zitzow of Breckenridge, three brothers, Rudolph of Claire City, Charles and August, both of Sisseton, a sister Mrs. Julius Krebs of Minneapolis and five granddaughters.
His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
