Obituary

Ray Kropp

Ray Kropp, 68, Wahpeton, died Saturday at St. Francis Hospital. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is this afternoon and evening (Monday) and Tuesday morning until 11 a.m. at Vertin's-Wahpeton Chapel and one hour prior to services at the church.

Mr. Kropp was born Jan. 15, 1911, at Albert Lea, Minn., to George and Josephine (Rinson) Kropp. They moved to Park Rapids, Minn., when he was a young boy and on Jan. 16, 1934, he married Beatrice Shebeck there.

He trained at Park Rapids as a mechanic and in 1945 moved to Wahpeton where he was employed by Olson Motors for 25 years until he retired in 1976.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Joann) Nelson of Fergus Falls; two sons, David of Fergus Falls and Richard of Wahpeton; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Roy of Park Rapids and George of New Bedford, Mass.; and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Freda) Peterka of Park Rapids and Mrs. Nancy Finlayson of St. Cloud, Minn.

Active casket bearers are Ben Berger, Henry Wolfswinkle, Matt Braun, Harmon Krause, Robert Olson and Arthur Nulph.

Honorary casket bearers are Oscar Krause, William Quine, Kenneth Stow, Vernon Popp, C.E. Kielb, Shermon Nelson and Wayne Graff.
