Archie P. Kerch, 71, Breck, Dies; Rites Held Saturday

Archie P. Kerch, 71, Breckenridge, died early Thursday at his home.

Funeral services were Saturday at Breckenridge Lutheran Church, Rev. R. D. Mellum officiating. Interment was in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Wahpeton.

Mr. Kerch was born April 15, 1895, at Millersburg, Ill. He was raised and attended schools in Milersburg. He came to Minnesota in 1916, settling in Foxhome. He was married to Edna Hanson on Nov. 12, 1919 at Foxhome. They farmed near Foxhome until 1937 when they moved to Bradford Township. They retired to Breckenridge in 1961.

He had worked for the ASC while farming, had served on the Bradford Township Board and had been a member of the Vukka Lutheran Church near Foxhome. More recently he was a member of the Breckenridge Lutheran Church and of the Masonic Lodge at Campbel.

Besides his wife, he leaves one sister, Mrs. Carl (Alice) Kuehn of Ottertail, Minn., four brothers, Carl, Oren, Lewis and John, all of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Kerch; one brother, Willard; two sisters, Mrs. Edward Shelstad of Doran and Mrs. Fred Mitchel of Illinois.

Pallbearers were Loren Mitchell, John Mitchell, Carl Kuehn, Jr., John Shelstad, Roger Shelstad and Kenneth Shelstad.

Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge was in charge of arrangements.
