Obituary
Ernest Krause, Local Carpenter, Dies Wednesday
Ernest F. Krause, 58, well known Wahpeton carpenter and contractor, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in his home here following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (CDT) in Immanuel Lutheran church here with Rev. Henry Fry officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens with Vertin Funeral home of Wahpeton, handling arrangements.
He was born in Deutschmark, Germany, July 10, 1899, where he attended schools and grew to manhood. He learned the carpenter trade in Germany before coming to the United States in August 1924 to Great Bend where he worked as a carpenter.
He married Martha Keller June 18, 1925. They resided at Great Bend until 1943 when they moved to Wahpeton.
Mr. Krause built many fine homes and buildings in Wahpeton until about six months ago when he suffered a heart attack. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church.
Survivors besides his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. (Gertrude) Stanley Strege, Wahpeton; a brother, Whilhelm and a sister, Pauline, both in Germany; and two grandchildren, Arden David and Carolyn Reida Strege.
