Obituary

~ Rudolph Kressin Funeral Monday ~

Rudolph A. Kressin, 72, of Barney died Friday. Funeral services were held Monday (today) in Peace Lutheran Church in Barney with the Reb. Lambert Dierks officiating. Sharon Dierks was the organist. Interment was in Fairview Memorial Gardens at Wahpeton. Vertin's-Wahpeton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Honorary casket bearers were George Brosowske, Ray Pelzl, Ernest Biegert, N.F. McLeod, Carl Denow, Henry Kurtz, John Williams and Harold Bolstad.

Mr. Kressin was born Dec. 20, 1898, at Lotts Creek, Iowa, the son of Leonard and Anna (Meyer) Kressin. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1912. He attended school at Barney and farmed there before operating the Standard Oil and International Implement business from 1923 to 1953 when he retired. He served on the town board in several offices and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He married Reginal Pelzl Oct. 3, 1923. She died in 1961. He married Ada Simdorn March 1, 1963.

He is survived by his wife Ada; a son, Orlin, Racine, Wis.; five stepsons and stepdaughters, Mrs. E. O. (Yvonne) Lindquist, Cathedral City, Calif.; Mrs. Gordon (Irene) Johanson, Cleveland, Ohio; Norman Simdorn, Portland, Ore.; Robert, Lubbock, Tex.; Gerald Barney.

Seven brothers and sisters, Arnold, West Fargo; Edwin, Barney; William and Arthur, both Chicago; Mrs. Walter (Rose) Krause and Mrs. Fred (Martha) Jentz, both Fenton, Iowa; Mrs. Gustav (Famie) Bohn; Grey Eagle, Minn.; four grandchildren and a great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Regina, two brothers and one sister.
