Obituary
~ Ada Kressin ~ Barney ~
Ada A. Kressin, 88, Barney, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1988, at St. Francis Home, Breckenridge. Her funeral will be Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, Barney, with Rev. Richard Hallman officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens (Garden of Christus), Wahpeton.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-9 p.m. at Vertin-Munson Wahpeton Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Ada Anna Kressin was born July 11, 1900, at Mooreton, N.D., to John and Ida (Rakow) Thiel. She was confirmed in 1914 at Peace Lutheran Church and attended local schools at Barney. She married William Simdorn on Oct. 4, 1922, at Barney. The couple had farmed in the Barney area. He died July 17, 1959. She married Rudy Kressin March 4, 1963. He died May 7, 1971. She continued to live in Barney moving to the Wahpeton Leach Home in 1980 and in 1984 she moved to St. Francis Home.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Barney Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by three sons, Geral Simdorn, Barney, Norman Simdorn, Portland, Ore. and Robert Simdorn, Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. E.O. (Yvonne) Lindquist, Palm Springs, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Brosowske, Wyndmere and Edna Thiel, Denver, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, William; her second husband, Rudy; one daughter, Irene Johnansen; one infant daughter, one stepson, Orlin Kressin; three brothers, Carl, Lawrence and Edmund; and one sister, Caroline.

The Garden of the Christus is located in the Memorial Gardens, which comprises the northern half of the cemetery.
