LEISENBURG’S DYING LAID TO ALCOHOLIC POISONING Coroner Will Conduct Autopsy for Blind Man Today; Laborer Buried Yesterday The deaths of two Wahpeton men have been occupying the attention of authorities this week. Today over the body of Joseph C. Gleason, blind resident of the city for 23 years, an autopsy will be conducted by Coroner J. N. Ness to determine whether or not his death Sunday was caused by some poisonous substance as circumstances lead authorities to believe.
Yesterday funeral services were conducted from Schmitt & Olson’s undertaking parlors for Carl Leisenburg, whose body was found about one o’clock Saturday afternoon in an upstairs room in the Carl Venslow home, 79 Pembina avenue. Authorities have concluded that acute alcoholic poisoning was the cause of his death. Gleason died shortly after two o’clock Sunday afternoon at his home, the restaurant which he had conducted for 13 years near the Northern Pacific station. He had been ill less than 24 hours.
