Obituary

Mrs. P. Langseth, Popular Richland Woman, Dies At 56

Mrs. Peter Langseth, 56, of Wahpeton, and formerly of Antelope township, died Monday at the St Francis Hospital in Breckenridge where she had been a patient two weeks. She had been in failing health for several months.

Mrs. Langseth was named North Dakota Mother of the Year in 1947 by the Golden Rule foundation.

Mrs. Langseth, the former Ina Craig, was born February 10, 1895, in Minburn, Ia. She came

with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. James Craig, to Richland county in 1903. She was married to Mr. Langseth in 1914 t Colfax, N D. They farmed in Antelope township, Richland county, halfway between Barney and Mooreton, until 1946 when they moved to Wahpeton.

She was an active worker in the Methodist church, was Antelope township Red Cross chairman many years, took a prominent part in Homemakers activities and was a leader in the county health program. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors.

Surviving are Mr. Langseth, four sons, Harold of Barney, a state representative from Richland County, Marvin of Woonsocket, R.I., Verle of Brenenridge and Russell of Bismarck; a daughter, Ila, at home; four brothers, Conrad Craig of Audubon, Minn., Lester of Vergas, Minn., Gene of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Elmer of the state of Washington; four sisters, Recie and Hope Craig of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Mrs. R.T. Carlson of Dassell, Minn., and Mrs. Esther Meyer of St. Paul and five grandsons.

Services were held Thursday in the Wahpeton Methodist church, Rev. C.H. Meyer officiating. Vertin funeral home of Wahpeton was in charge. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Williams, Elmer Hoffert, Kenneth Hoffert, Colin McDougall and Ardy Woodbury.
