Obituary

William Larson Rites Held At Lutheran Church

William Larson, died Wednesday at St. Francis hospital. He was taken ill only the night before.

He is survived by two brothers, Melvin of Breckenridge, and Clifford of Wahpeton and two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Hanson and Mrs. Clark Hanson of this city. There are eight nieces and nephews.

Wm. Larson was born at Oakes on Feb. 2, 1889. When about ten years old he moved with his parents to Kindred, where he was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith, having been baptised as an infant. In 1899, he moved with the family to Wilkin County, where he was engaged in farming until about six years ago. Outside of the two years, spent at Beresford, S.D., where he was employed in the Bethseda Home for the Aged, he spent his entire life in this vicinity. The past four years he has been employed as maintenance man at the St. Francis hospital.

Beautiful and impressive funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the Breckenridge Lutheran church, with Pastor T. C Hanson, officiating. The church was filled with sorrowing relatives and friends. Mrs. Don Royer presided at the organ and Mrs. Victor Paulson, sang two beautiful solos, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Near to the Heart of God.” Casket bearers were Julius Bergquist, Wm. Bergquist, John Cimbura, Walt Breamer, Harold Samuelson and Ben Prieb. Honorary pallbearers were co-workers from St. Francis hospital and nurses, in their caps and capes, acted as honor guards, when the remains were brought from the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Larson, one brother Peter, and two sisters, Emily and Ethel, Mrs. Ed Welharticky.

Relatives attending from a distance were Fred Borderud, Mrs Lawrence Larson and Mr. and Mrs. Ole Olsgard of Kindred and Mr and Mrs. Arnold Borderud, Miss Viola Borderud and Mrs. Ida Sachell, all fromFargo. There were a large number of memorial gifts and floral offerings. Circle No. 2 served refreshments following the service.
