Obituary
Lars M. Lee Funeral Tuesday In Wahpeton
Final rites for Lars M. Lee, Wahpeton, who passed away at the St. Francis hospital Friday evening, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Bethel Lutheran church with Rev. P. A. Gisvold officiating. Musical selections will be presented by Archie Isackson and Syvert Wateland of Galchutt. Vertin Funeral Home of Wahpeton is in charge.
Lars Lee was born July 17, 1881 in Norway and migrated to the United States in 1900. He settled in the Colfax area and was united
in marriage to Helga Bolstad in 1910. He was engaged in farming and carpentry until retirement.
Mr. Lee was a charter member of Our Saviors Lutheran church of Colfax until he transferred membership to Bethel Lutheran when moving to Wahpeton in 1951. Mrs. Lee preceded him in death in 1953 and for the past five years, has made his home with his son Kenneth and family at 618 8th St. No., Wahpeton.
Surviving are eight sons and one daughter: Melford, Havre, Mont., Oswald, Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Vernon (Thordisa) Danielson, New Rockford, N.D.: Herbert, Ft. Lewis, Wash., Willard, Great Lakes, Ill.; Arthur, Oscar, Kenneth and Clayton, all of Wahpeton and twenty grandchildren.
One brother and four sisters in Norway also survive.
His eight sons will be pallbearers. The honorary pallbearers will be: Palmer Nash, Andrew Bjerkager, Louis Anderson, Orlando, Hermo, Carl Rustvang, Marthur E. Johnson, Floyd Johnson, Andrew Ulven, Joseph Sokness, Edwin Score, Matt Rindahl and Herman A. Deike.
Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery with the Vertin Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
