Obituary

Kenneth E. Lee

Services for Kenneth L. Lee, 62, Wahpeton, will be Friday, beginning at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton with Rev. Ernest Bartels officiating. Mr. Lee died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital. Arrangements are by Vertin's Wahpeton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation began this afternoon and will continue this evening, Thursday, and one hour prior to the funeral. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 tonight, Thursday.

Lee was born May 23, 1915 at Walcott, N.D., to Emil and Mabel (Lahren) Lee and attended school at Binford, N.D. He was active in school athletics, and prominent in baseball circles, playing with the former B-W Twins. He served in World War II in the South Pacific, European and Middle East theaters, and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was married to Irene Glander of Wahpeton on March 25, 1961.

After World War II he was employed by Montgomery Ward Co., in Wahpeton and later with Loberg Ford, Wahpeton, as parts manager, retiring last June. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Wahpeton American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts. The two service organizations will conduct military rites.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; a daughter by a previous marriage, Mrs. Allen (Corrine) Brunson, White Bear Lake, Minn.; a grandson, Dallas, and one brother, Kermit, Wahpeton. He is preceded by his parents and two brothers.

Casket bearers will be Lawrence Brunkhorst, Arnold Kline, William Bragg, Robert Hintgen, Claude Fleenor and James Ostrom.
